Transportation routes have been finalized; however, we are currently experiencing an issue with the route information transferring between our transportation software and PowerSchool.
Our technology and transportation teams are working closely with the software company to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. We will share transportation information with families as soon as the issue is resolved.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Board of Education Meeting: August 17th @ 6:00pm PHS Media Center Board Meeting YouTube Channel https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC9vTDknGOgHB9uUUHu1spdQ OR http://bit.ly/peotone207u

We are working to finalize transportation routes and plan to email bus schedules to families by Wednesday, August 19. We will send an updated email on Monday, August 24 with any adjustments to pickup and drop-off times.
With the changes to our transportation routes this year, we are making some adjustments to help keep routes as efficient as possible. One of these changes will be fewer stops within town and increased use of corner stops. As a result, some students may need to walk a little farther to reach their bus stop.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through these changes. There may be additional adjustments during the first few weeks of school as we monitor routes and make changes as needed.
As a reminder, students in 2nd grade and younger are required to have a parent or guardian present to meet them at their bus stop.
If you have any questions, please contact the Transportation Department at 708-258-9605.
Thank you for your patience and support as we prepare for a great school year. We look forward to seeing everyone soon!

As we approach the 25th Anniversary of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, we pause to remember the lives that were lost and to honor the extraordinary courage of those who answered the call without hesitation. On one of the darkest days in our nation's history, countless first responders, service members, healthcare professionals, and ordinary citizens demonstrated remarkable bravery and selflessness. Though our nation was tested that September morning, it also revealed the resilience, unity, and strength that define the American spirit.
Twenty-five years later, we remain deeply grateful for the men and women who continue to serve our communities each day. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the Manhattan Fire Protection District and the Peotone Police Department for their unwavering commitment to protecting our community. Whether responding to emergencies, supporting our schools, or serving our residents, they willingly sacrifice time with their own families to ensure the safety of ours. While no words can fully express our gratitude, we hope they know how much their service and sacrifice mean to our community.
To commemorate the 25th anniversary of 9/11, the Peotone High School Student Council is proud to offer a special commemorative T-shirt fundraiser. One hundred percent of the proceeds from every shirt sold will be donated to the Manhattan Fire Protection District and the Peotone Police Department as a small token of our appreciation for all they do to keep our community safe.
The online store will close at midnight on Thursday, August 20. Orders may be shipped directly to your home for an additional shipping fee, or you may choose to have them delivered to any Peotone School District building for free pickup. This fundraiser is open to the entire Peotone community, and we encourage everyone to join us in honoring the heroes of September 11 while supporting the first responders who continue to serve our community each and every day.
Together, we remember. Together, we honor. Together, we give back. 🇺🇲🗽🧑🚒👮🏥🎖️

Peotone CUSD 207u Strategic Planning Feedback
Thank you to the 140+ individuals who have already shared their feedback! Your voice matters, and we want to continue hearing from as many members of our community as possible.
As we navigate this new school year - including navigating our new building configurations and space planning - our primary focus is to listen, learn, and lead with complete transparency. Every decision that our District makes will be driven by what best serves our students and stakeholders. To ensure our future vision reflects the values of everyone in our community, we are launching a process to create the Blue Devil Blueprint; a strategic plan to guide the decisions made by our Board of Education and administrative team. Your voice is the most critical element of this plan.
Please take a few minutes to complete our Blue Devil Blueprint survey linked here- https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfaeSdoMLIylXMjbM0vSSXhVwax1zHA5xON9GmG3vK2shrd8w/viewform
Your honest feedback regarding our academic programs, buildings and facilities, operations, and communication will serve as a foundation for years to come. We are also looking for community volunteers to participate in committees regarding the future path of the District. These committees are:
Blue Devil Blueprint Steering Committee: to participate in and oversee the creation of the new strategic plan
Future Configuration Committee: to discuss the current grade level configuration, building usage, and future options
Citizens Finance Committee: to learn more about and give feedback on the financial position of the District, its operations, and future planning considerations
Any community member is welcome to complete the survey or volunteer to participate on the committees.

Peotone CUSD 207U is pleased to welcome Dr. Mark Cohen as the next Superintendent of Schools. Dr. Cohen was officially approved at the April 27, 2026 Board Meeting and will begin leading our district on July 1, 2026. Dr. Cohen joins us from Naperville Community Unit School District 203, where he serves as the Deputy Superintendent for High Schools. With a Doctorate in Education from Loyola University Chicago and a career spanning 27 years in Illinois public schools, Dr. Cohen comes to Peotone with experience in strategic planning and academic innovation.
Dr. Cohen spent much of his career in Lincoln-Way High School District 210, beginning as a science teacher and rising to the level of Principal of Lincoln-Way North High School. Later as the Superintendent in Mokena 159, he facilitated a comprehensive 5-year Strategic Plan and led the schools to significantly higher levels of academic performance. Dr. Cohen has significant experience with academic innovation, Human Resources administration, and leading the implementation of technology initiatives. We are confident that his experience has prepared him to lead Peotone CUSD 207U with a focus on both our immediate needs and our long-term vision. We look forward to the energy and insight he will bring to our district as we continue to advance our educational mission. Please join us in welcoming Dr. Cohen to the Peotone community!

This year, our district-wide focus is GO BIG BLUE, a theme that aligns with our Peotone High School vision and our Portrait of a Graduate. Each month, we spotlight one key aspect of GO BIG BLUE and celebrate the students and staff who truly exemplify it through our GO BIG BLUE Spotlight Recognition Program.
For March, our focus was "Encourage Effective Communication." This recognition honors someone who speaks clearly, listens to others, and shares their ideas in a kind and respectful way. This person helps everyone work better together. These staff members were recognized at their buildings this past month.
