Attention Students:

Second Semester Schedule Change Reminder: Students have the first 5 school days of second semester to request a schedule change. The last day for students to request to switch electives or drop an elective for a study hall for second semester is Monday, January 14, 2019. Students may not request to change their lunch period or a teacher. The counselors will be available in the Commons before school, after school, and during the lunch periods for students to request a schedule change. Please view the 2018-2019 Student Registration and Course Description Guide on the PHS website for the full schedule change policy.

Attention Seniors:

Financial Aid Information: Beginning October 1, 2018 seniors and their families are able to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). It is strongly recommended that all college bound students complete this application before December 1st. Check out the website below for important information and changes regarding the FAFSA: https://studentaid.ed.gov/sa/fafsa/filling-out.

Most PHS Local Scholarship applications will be available on the website beginning Friday, February 8, 2019 and will be due on Friday, March 15, 2019. Paper applications will also be available in the Guidance Office. 

Just a reminder...If you are a male U.S. citizen, age 18 or older you are required to register for the Selective Service. Visit http://www.sss.gov more information.

Financial Aid & Scholarship Night Presentation 
Tuesday, September 18, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the PHS Auditorium                        

  • The College and Financial Aid specialist from the Illinois Student Assistance Commision (ISAC) will give a general overview presentation to seniors and their families about Financial Aid and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The ISAC specialist will also have a table set up with brochures and will be available to answer college and financial aid planning questions.

College Planning Night
Wednesday, March 13, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the PHS Auditorium                                   

  • The PHS School Counselors and guest speakers will be presenting on the college admissions process and timeline. Students interested in attending a two or four-year college are encouraged to attend this free event with their family.
