Any student interested in taking the SAT on a National SAT test day must register online at https://collegereadiness.collegeboard.org/sat?navid=gh-sat. PHS will host the National SAT test on Saturday, June 2, 2018.

Attention Seniors:

Financial Aid Information: Beginning October 1, 2017 seniors and their families are able to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). It is strongly recommended that all college bound students complete this application before December 1st. Check out the website below for important information and changes regarding the FAFSA: https://studentaid.ed.gov/sa/fafsa/filling-out.

Most PHS Local Scholarship applications for the Class of 2018 will be available in the Guidance Office and online starting Friday, February 9th. These local scholarships will be awarded at Senior Awards Night. All seniors are encouraged to check out the Scholarship Opportunities page for more information!

Just a reminder...If you are a male U.S. citizen, age 18 or older you are required to register for the Selective Service. Visit  http://www.sss.gov more information.

NASP Tips for Educators and Families of Adolescents:

Recently, the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) sent out a public service announcement regarding the Netflix Series, "13 Reasons Why."    The announcement details the contents of the show and book. Each family and child is unique, and censorship of television, books, and media is a personal decision made by and for each family. However, we felt it prudent to share the NASP's message and tips for educators and families of adolescents so everyone is aware. The message from NASP is listed below:

Save the Date:

PHS is hosting a Cocoa Cram Study Session to kick off final exam week on Monday, December 18th from 3:15 to 5:00 p.m. in the Media Center. All students are welcome to attend. Hot cocoa and cookies will be served and students will have the opportunity to study for their finals.

Starting Monday, January 8th students will be able to request to drop a second semester elective for a Study Hall or switch to another elective. Students have until Friday, January 12th to request a schedule change. Counselors will be available before school, after school, and during the lunch periods in the Commons. 

High School Orientation Night is on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at 5:45 p.m. in the PHS Commons & Auditorium. Parents/Guardians and 8th grade students are encouraged to attend a brief informational meeting regarding the transition from junior high to high school.  The evening will begin at 5:45 p.m. in the Commons with an opportunity for families to visit with club sponsors and current students who are involved in a variety of student organizations.  The PHS School Counselors will conduct a presentation at 6:30 p.m. in the Auditorium. Registration materials for the 2018-2019 will be distributed at this time. Please contact the PHS Guidance Department if you have any questions!
