Good Morning PHS Students and Staff!

Good Luck to our Soccer team still playing in Regionals tonight in Crete!


On Thursday, all sophomores are to report to the auditorium at the beginning

of 5th hour for a meeting about their class fundraiser. Students will go to their

5th hour classes about 10-15 minutes into the period.


We will be celebrating National School Lunch week all week in our cafeterias.

National School Lunch Week will emphasize the healthy foods that are offered

every day in our lunch program. We will be featuring taste tests, surveys, guessing

games, and daily raffle prizes. Please join us in celebrating this years’  theme

“ Recipes for Success” during your lunch hour!


A Representative from Hope College - MI will be at PHS on October 12th

at 10:15 for a college visit. Sign into your Naviance account to schedule

your visit. If you have any questions, please see your counselor.


Seniors: The PHS Guidance Dept. is hosting it’s 8th Annual FAFSA Workshop

Today, October 11th from 6:00 - 8:00 PM in the 1st Floor Computer

Lab. At this time, parents and students will be able to work on their Free Application

for Federal Student Aid and a financial aid specialist from ISAC will be available to

answer questions.


Freshman Candle Fundraiser Orders are due on Monday, October 16th. All

orders and payments should be turned into the office by the end of the day

on Monday, Oct. 16. See Mr. Welsh with any questions.


There will be an International Culture Club Meeting on Friday, October 13

at 8:00 AM in the Auditorium.


Do you like to sing? Are you a really good dancer? Do you have a hidden

talent that you want to show to the world? Bring your talents to the annual

PHS Talent Show! Auditions are Today, October 11th beginning at

3:30 PM. If you have a conflict with the auditions or have any questions see

Miss McKay.


In Support of Suicide Awareness Month, PHS is sponsoring a T-Shirt Design

Contest to help raise awareness, empathy and conversation about Suicide

Prevention and Mental Health Concerns. Create a T-Shirt design on an 8 ½

by 11 piece of paper and submit it before October 13th.

Check out yellow flyers for contest rules and prizes.


The PHS Book Club will meet this Friday, October 13th at 7:30 AM in the

Media Center. Please turn in your current Novels at the meeting. T-Shirt

order forms and field trip permission forms are also due. Extra copies of these

forms are in the Media Center. Our next book will also be announced at

the meeting. All are welcome!


Peotone Junior High School is hosting a Book Fair this week on,

Wednesday and Friday in the PJHS Library. Mrs. Schubbe will have the

book fair open TODAY after school. There are a lot of teen titles at the

Book Fair - come and shop for a great book.


Any student enrolled in the JJC Head Start on College course second

semester needs to turn in their registration form and money to Ms. Schultz

by friday, December 1st.


Attention Students: Joliet Junior College is hosting a Free College Fair on

Wednesday, October 18th from 5:30 to 8:00 PM. College Admission

Representatives from over 150 schools will be available to answer questions

and provide materials about their schools. Students and their families are welcome

to attend.


Attention College bound seniors: Now is the time to be completing your  2018 - 2019

Free Application for Federal Student Aid. You can access the application at It is highly recommended that you complete this application by

December 1st. If you have questions, please see your counselor.


Seniors: Do you have questions about your college applications? Stop by the Media

Center on Monday, October 16th during your lunch period and a college and financial

aid specialist from ISAC will be available to answer any questions you may have. Free college gear will be given away.


Any Junior or Senior interested in taking the Free Military ASVAB Test at PHS on Tuesday,

November 14th must submit the registration form to Guidance Office by Wednesday,

November 1st. Please see your counselor for more information.


Seniors: Now is the time for completing your college applications to Four Year Universities.

After you submit your online application make sure you complete a transcript request

form in the Guidance Office. See Mrs. Murray or Ms. Schultz if you have any questions.
